Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reports that at least 652 children died from malnutrition in Katsina State during the first half of 2025, amid funding cuts and heightened insecurity. The group warned that service disruptions and displacement are worsening access to treatment, even as Nigeria moves to allocate additional domestic resources to health. Aid agencies have called for urgent support to stabilize nutrition programs through the peak hunger season.
